Not only did we have our riders with us, we took as many of the Society as possible. As you can tell from the way they are dressed, it wasn’t the warmest of days, with a little drizzle (a “smirr” in Scots) falling. That’s no more than you would expect at Hermitage. When two of us had gone on a site visit the week before the sun was splitting the sky and it just didn’t have the same atmosphere at all.
